To all my fellow “High School Musical” lovers, I trust you’ll get the reference above. To the HSM
illiterate: the title refers to the part of the movie when Troy has a big
basketball game coming up but has become distracted by his new relationship
with Gabriella. His team is worried about the distraction of their star player
and so precedes to sing/rap the song “Get Your Head in the Game”. These are the
times when I wish I could have a musical blog. Is there such a thing?!

 Anyway, I feel like
I need somebody to sing that song to me right now! I am scheduled to leave for
South Africa in just over a month. 1 MONTH! But it STILL hasn’t hit me! And,
like Troy, I have become distracted by other things, stealing my eyes and heart
away from what I should be focusing on.

 I feel like this is
Satan’s attempt to knock me off my feet right before the “big game”. Know what
I mean?

 But tonight when I
was driving home after spending time with a friend, the song “In Christ Alone”
came on my ipod, (again, a musical blog would be helpful). I think the words in the first stanza say it all:

 In Christ alone my hope is found;

He is my light, my strength, my song;

This cornerstone, this solid ground,

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

What heights of love, what depths of peace,

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease.

My comforter, my all in all,

Here in the love of Christ I stand.

God, this is my prayer tonight! Let my hope and
strength be found in you alone. And as I finish preparing for this trip, even
when Satan attempts to distract me with other things, let the song you’ve
written on my heart be the one I long to sing as I follow where you lead.
